The Story: My astronomy professor in college drove an old Volvo and was proud to keep us informed of its odometer reading. Dr. Cotton came into class one day and said, “Okay, I'm almost to the moon,” which we knew, from a previous lecture, is 236k miles from earth. Then I got to wondering, “What would it be like to drive straight off the horizon and just keep going?”

My Creative Mission is to feel alive, out loud. In our broken, shaken, fallen world, music has agency. Good songs open the heart and remind us of our humanity. We need them. My songs are not ads for ideology, though I, too, am ready to put the gloves on (see my note on citizenship). They are a daily practice of listening. I try to hear in the gaps something stirring, a story of unseen relationships. I usually know if I'm telling the truth.
